Seoul Luggage Storage: Subway Lockers vs T-Luggage
Need luggage storage in Seoul after checkout? Compare T-Locker prices, suitcase sizes, staffed T-Luggage counters and pickup times before choosing.
For a few hours of luggage storage in Seoul, start with a subway locker near the station you will return to. Choose a staffed T-Luggage counter if you need help or your suitcase will not fit an available locker. Before paying, check three things: the compartment size, the total charge for your stay, and the last time you can collect your bag. Storage is only useful if you can reach it before your next train.
This guide compares short-term T-Locker storage with staffed T-Luggage counters. It covers keeping bags in Seoul while you explore; sending them to the airport requires a separate delivery booking.

Which Seoul luggage storage option should you choose?
| Your situation | Start with | Check before committing |
|---|---|---|
| A backpack or suitcase for a short sightseeing stop | A subway locker | An available compartment that fits the entire bag |
| A bulky suitcase or a preference for staff assistance | A staffed T-Luggage counter | Acceptance, size category and that counter’s opening hours |
| You will return late in the evening | A location you can reliably reach before closing | Both the storage service and access to its part of the station |
| You want your bag sent to Incheon Airport | A luggage delivery service | A separate booking, collection location and flight-compatible schedule |
The best location is often on your onward route. A cheaper locker across the city can cost you another journey and a rushed collection. Sketch your route first: hotel → sightseeing → bag collection → airport or next accommodation. If collecting the bag creates a long detour, compare another location before comparing prices.

T-Locker prices and compartment sizes
Seoul’s official published table lists the following T-Locker rates. Dimensions are in the published order: width × depth × height. Confirm the label on the actual unit before paying.
| Size | Dimensions | First 4 hours: weekday | First 4 hours: weekend | Each additional hour |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Small | 50 × 30 × 60 cm | ₩2,200 | ₩3,100 | ₩500 |
| Medium | 50 × 45 × 60 cm | ₩3,300 | ₩4,600 | ₩800 |
| Large | 50 × 90 × 60 cm | ₩4,400 | ₩6,100 | ₩1,000 |
The published T-Locker service window is 05:00–24:00, with no storage or retrieval outside it. Source: Seoul Metropolitan Government’s subway storage facilities guide.
Budget example: using the large weekday rate above, the base charge plus two additional billable hours is ₩6,400. Treat this as a calculation, not a quote: the payment screen determines the applicable charge and billing increments.
A suitcase described as “24-inch” or “28-inch” is not enough information to judge fit. Measure the outer bag, including its wheels and protruding handles. Compare all three dimensions, and check the opening as well as the space inside. Never force a door against the bag or assume two bags will fit because their combined volume looks small.

How to use a subway luggage locker without losing track of it
The T-Locker English website describes an app for finding lockers, checking availability, reserving, paying and opening the door. Incheon Airport’s railroad guide also describes app or on-site kiosk use. Follow the instructions on your particular locker; do not assume every bank has the same payment or unlocking process.
- Record the exact location. Save the station name, line, floor, nearby exit and locker bank identifier. A large interchange can have several similar corridors.
- Check access and collection time. Read the local operating notice before leaving your bag. Build your sightseeing plan around a comfortable return, not the last possible minute.
- Confirm the bag fits. Keep wheels, straps and handles clear of the door. Take out anything you will need during the day first.
- Read the payment screen. Check the selected compartment, base period, extra charges and available payment methods. Do not assume every foreign card will work.
- Save your collection information privately. Keep the receipt or booking reference accessible. Do not share a screenshot containing an unlock code.
- Check that the door is secured. Save the operator’s support details from the unit, and set a reminder that leaves time for the walk back.
Keep your phone charged if access depends on it. Save the station location separately from the booking screen so you can still navigate back if an app needs to reload. Before reopening a paid locker to retrieve a forgotten item, check whether that ends the storage session.
When a staffed T-Luggage counter makes more sense
T-Luggage offers staffed storage at locations including Seoul Station, Hongik University, Myeongdong and Jamsil. Its English site lists size-based four-hour storage charges; for example, the small category starts at ₩3,000 on weekdays and ₩4,000 on weekends. Confirm how staff classify your bag.
Many listed counters operate 09:00–22:00, while the Gangnam listing starts at 10:00. Use the hours and map for the specific center you book. Seoul Station’s listing places the counter on B1 between exits 1 and 2. Official pages differ on Hongik University’s exit description, so use the current booking map rather than relying on an exit number copied into an older guide. Staff assistance can be useful when you are unsure about bag size or the collection process. It does not make the service round-the-clock. Ask where to collect, what proof is required and when you must return before you leave the counter.
What if the lockers are full or payment fails?
Keep a backup location on the same route. If a locker bank is full, check another suitable compartment or nearby bank before making a long trip elsewhere. Availability can change between checking an app and arriving, so do not build a tight airport connection around finding an empty locker at the last minute.
If payment fails, check whether a booking or receipt was created before retrying. A payment notification alone does not tell you which compartment you can use. Contact the operator using the details on the machine or booking confirmation if the charge and access status disagree.
You can also ask your accommodation whether it can hold your bags after checkout. Confirm the collection deadline, fee and eligibility directly; this is a question to ask, not a service every property promises.

Plan collection before you plan the afternoon
Here is a hypothetical checkout-day plan: leave your accommodation in the late morning, store your bag on the route to your afternoon activity, then collect it before continuing to the airport. Work backward from your actual transport and check-in needs. The storage deadline is a separate constraint from the train timetable.
Write down these five details before setting off:
- Storage location and the entrance or corridor you will use.
- Your planned collection time, allowing for walking and a possible queue.
- The latest collection time shown by that service.
- Your onward route after you have the suitcase back.
- A backup if the chosen storage location cannot accept the bag.
For route planning, see our Korea travel guides. Choose activities around the collection route instead of squeezing in one final cross-city stop. Moving with a suitcase can take longer than the same route did without one.
What should stay with you?
Keep your passport, wallet, keys and essential electronics with you. T-Luggage’s published terms exclude various valuables and fragile or restricted items, and say identification may be requested at collection. Read the operator’s booking terms and prohibited-items list before packing; do not assume every item is accepted or covered.
Pack a separate day bag with your medication, charging cable, travel documents and anything needed for the next part of the journey. This avoids having to reopen a locker or return to a counter midway through sightseeing.
Common questions
Can I count on finding a large locker at Seoul Station?
No. Check current availability and have a counter or another location in mind. A published locker size is not a promise that an empty compartment will be waiting.
Can a tourist use storage without a Korean phone number?
Check the current registration and payment flow for the specific service before arriving. The official pages reviewed here do not establish one universal rule for every locker installation and tourist payment method. If you cannot complete an app’s setup, investigate a kiosk or staffed counter before taking your bag there.
Is airport luggage delivery the same as luggage storage?
No. Storage means collecting the bag from the storage service; delivery adds a transport arrangement. Confirm the destination, handover process and delivery schedule separately.
